I joined a collaborative writing project and found it very helpful. There isn’t a single instructor like in a class, but instead everyone critiques everyone else’s stories. Also, because the fictional “world” is collaborative, it is easier to join in without having to invent a world from the beginning. And now they’re going to open a second branching that will host stories that aren’t set in the collaborative world for those who prefer to write their own thing.
