Creative Writing

I missed the deadline to apply for a MFA program (July 15), so I have to wait until next year. I was wondering if I enroll at my college and earn another BA if it will look bad? I’ve always wanted to learn a new language like Spanish, so I was thinking of getting a BA in Spanish since it’s only 30 credits to earn another BA instead of 120 credits, and should only take a year to complete.

I guess what I’m trying to say is if it will look like I’m unfocused if I have a BA in English Lit, a BA in Film, and then a BA in Spanish. Will the admissions people for the MFA in Creative Writing program I’m applying to find that strange and think I’m unfocused? Please help!

I spoke with the director of the undergrad spanish program at my old college and she told me it’s possible to complete the degree in 1 year this way:
Fall term (Sept-Dec): 12 credits
Winter term (Jan-May): 15 credits:
Spring term (May-July): 3 credits

and since my late grandpa left me money for school, money is not an issue. the only thing that’s preventing me is what graduate schools will think of me cause I have so many unrelated BA’s! Help!

I wish to become a writer and am trying to figure out whats the best college to go to.
I live in Georgia, but I would prefer to go to a college somewhere else (perhaps New York). And for the most part, money is NOT a problem, so lets not worry about that.

I really, really want to get into a good creative writing college, but I can’t find any real answers online. I’d like them to be located in the south east section of the United States (by or even in Georgia). Best answer goes to whoever . . . gives me the best answer

I love to write. I mean, I really love to write. It’s probably the only passion I have stronger than love. But I need to know what college to go to.

What college should I go to for Creative Writing?

I’m a junior, thinking about college and I’ve got two ideas in mind, completely unrelated.

I was hoping I could do a duel major in both Creative Writing and Forensic Psychology, but if I majored in one, and minored in another, could I get my PhD and MFA in both?

I have a Master’s degree in English Literature and now want to pursue a PhD in Creative Writing. Is there anything special that will help me stand out as a PhD candidate? Anything special I need to do?

For Creative Writing MFA programs, the GRE is not the most important part of the application, but for the schools that request it, the score still matters. The schools I want to go to say most of their successful applicants have a 600 Verbal score and a 5 Writing score. I have a 580 Verbal and 4.5 Writing, so I’m right below the mark. Should I take the GRE again, or should I concentrate my efforts on other parts of the application?

I am visiting Hollins University very soon because I’ve researched all the aspects of the english/creative writing department and love it to death. But I am looking for a couple good safety schools with the same strenghts. Any ideas?

I want to do an MFA in Creative Writing but not ridiculously priced (sorry USC). If there is an option of partial on-campus, partial online even better. Personal experience also a plus. Thanks

I’m talking about a bachelor’s degree. I’m not concerned about graduate studies, only undergraduate. I also want to exclude minors and “certificate” programs. Full fledged bachelors degrees in creative writing. Thanks
