i want to become an english teacher, while working on my ultimate aspiration of becoming a friction writer. will creative writing major be condusive to this, or is it just a dead end?

Hi I’m a really Keene amateur writer and want to know where to study creative writing part time as im a recruitment consultant and need to work. Any online courses that people know about or how to get into the game with no professional experience and no related qualifications any advice would be great cheers

Im based in London have worked as a secretary for more than 10 years and have an HND in Business Studies but am tired of admin work and office politics and would like to do something more creative- change careers.

I write in my spare time and have attended an advanced writing course for the past 3 years. I like reading and would like to see if I could train to teach creative writing in further education or and English /English literature. I would also be grateful if I could get any info on what qualifications you need to be able to teach English as a first language and Basic literacy skills.

Okay here’s my story, well when it was time to decide which subject i wanted to take for college, i couldnt make my mind up and decided that taking business would be a safe decision.

now its my last year in college and i really want to do creative writing or english literature at uni. But i am stuck and i am taking a gap year.

In my gap year i am going to america for work experience for three months, returning and was thinking of taking private creative writing lessons in london coz i thought that it would help my chances of doing english at uni and add a little bit of credibility.

i am also going to submit my own piece of creative writing when applying to university.

what do you think people, do you think doing the private lessons will help??? any chances of me getting into uni with my business qualifications??? i am so confused, m losing the will to live lol..:(

I already have a different plan for my full time job, but am pretty strong in the english area and was wondering what kind of work I could do with a degree in it.

I feel stupid saying this but are there ‘creative writing’ degrees? Probably just diplomas or something right?

I want to major in either English Literature, Creative Writing or English with a minor/concentration in Creative Writing.

The subject has to be contemporary and may involve a questionnaire or interview. This is for my BA Degree in Creative Writing at University of Derby.
